The company is hoping that it will be able to sell even more handsets once Galaxy S II smartphones hit the Global market. Samsung is focusing on growing its market share and is expecting Galaxy S to do better than its predecessor Galaxy S. Samsung had managed to sell as many as 10 million units of Galaxy S since it was first launched in the last spring.
Even as Samsung Galaxy S II will be out in the market sometime in the first half of 2011, the company is aiming to sell around 60 million smartphones this year, according to a report. It is evident from the above facts that people both in the emerging and developed markets now prefer smartphones over basic mobile phones. Samsung is hoping that the global smartphone market will grow anywhere between 30%-40% in 2011.
Given that the smartphone market is growing at a rapid pace, Samsung does not wish to leave any stone unturned. Samsung recently launched the Galaxy S II at the Mobile World Congress.
